三大設計原則︰

1. 書架靠牆，設置更多以書面見人的展書區，以及獨立的閱讀空間/坐椅 (營造書店/家那種寬敞舒適的環境，同時兼顧到讀者獨自享受或與別人分享閱讀樂趣)
2. 設立 Information Commons (便於學生進行 collaborative learning)
3. 消除明顯的 circulation counter (館員與讀者更親近，不再隔在 counter 內縮在一角)

2. 入到圖書館，首先見到的不是書架，而是自修室似的一排排書檯和椅，要完全經過它們，再穿過一個小門口才是放書的地方，而且光線嚴重不足，誰會喜歡到此地找書和略閱書本？
3. 就算選完書，回到自修室的地方閱讀，萬一想找其他書或換書，又要重覆以上步驟，多麻煩﹗以我之見，書架應伴著書桌和椅，以方便讀者隨時挑選喜愛的書籍，並增加他們在圖書館和書本停留的時間。即書架靠牆，被圍在中央的是工作站，連數部電腦以方便查書 (OPAC) 和網絡資源。

即時向校長反映學校圖書館需要改建的構思 (推算圖書館大小，拆掉 partition 而成)。

而引起我將構思呈現出來的源起就是上一篇文的書店格局。
