終於來到最後一部分，Brian 花了很大篇幅介紹 blog、podcast、wiki、photo、 video 係教和學的用途。老實說，我讀到的時候真的很興奮，因為我在設計 WebQuest <http://webquest.sdsu.edu/> 時，曾向組員提議給學生任務可包含使用 blog、podcast 和 video，作為一個描述/呈交報告的形式。可惜他們認為評分有困難和要求過高而不被接納，學生要做的仍舊是一般的 presentation 和書面報告，真的很遺憾呢…

 

Flickr <http://www.flickr.com/> 的註釋功能就像 Diigo <http://www.diigo.com/> 的 highlights 和 sticky notes，絕對是提供簡要資料的最佳工具。

 

這也令我想起 「Jan’s Tech Blog – Google Earth將成教學好拍檔」 <http://www.azuremedia.net/tech/history/content_management/001212.html> 中提到為 Google Earth <http://earth.google.com/> 配上附加應用程式及內容 <http://www.gearthblog.com/> 好用作教學之用。

說到 podcast 當然不得不提華人 podcast 之母 pig 和她的「豬欄」<http://pigazine.blogspot.com/> 和「Pigcast 豬欄 podcast」<http://pigcast.blogspot.com/>。受到她不斷的鼓勵和愈趨成熟的平台和技術簡單化 (e.g. Odeo <http://odeo.com/>)，近月多了不少 podcaster，出名的有︰星屑醫生的 Dr. Singsit’s 3 min Podcast! 在「The doctor is ‘IN’, 這醫生很~潮*」<http://singsit01.mysinablog.com/index.php> 和葉一知的 DiuCast 在「刁民公園」 <http://diumanpark.mysinablog.com/index.php>。所以若果將來 podcast 在學校的規模和廣泛程度可以做到開台 (Open Radio Hong Kong) <http://www.openradiohk.com/> 那樣就十分之好了。

可以補充的是 Apple 的 Seminars Online <http://seminars.apple.com/>。人們只要做了個簡單的註冊，就可以免費觀看影片，如我很推薦的 “Improve Your Presentation Skills” <http://seminars.apple.com/seminarsonline/presenting/apple/index.html?s=203>。

至於 Wikis，Wikipedia 的建議︰

… students participate in exercises such as working on existing or requested articles; linking orphaned articles to appropriate places; fixing spelling, factual, grammatical, and other errors in articles; and even translating articles from other languages. It’s a great idea and is beneficial to both the student and Wikipedia. Students can learn about the topic as well as improve on their writing while Wikipedia gains more content.

和真實的應用例子非常具啟發性。我一直只想到它是個單向的資訊站，忽略了學生可以在參與編訂工作的過程中學習。讚﹗

Video sharing 和 Web 2.0 Courses 就是教學類影片 + UC Berkeley on Google Video <http://video.google.com/ucberkeley.html> 和 MIT OpenCourseWare <http://ocw.mit.edu/index.html> 等。

也可以是 Tubetorial <http://tubetorial.com/>，例如很有 Steve Jobs 風格的 video presentation︰”Why WordPress.com Rocks” <http://tubetorial.com/wordpresscom-video-one/>

還有不容錯過的 NOVA <http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/> 和 NOVA – Watch NOVA programs Online <http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/programs/>

 

有指 IE 7 的 RSS feeds 訂閱功能將會在 07年使 RSS 流行起來。雖然是遲了點，但總算是件好事。網上 feed reader，最普遍的還是 Bloglines <http://www.bloglines.com/> 和 NewsGator <http://www.newsgator.com/>；軟件就不離 GreatNews <http://www.curiostudio.com/> 或它的繁體中文版 <http://greatnews.twftp.org/>。

Netvibes <http://www.netvibes.com/> 其實就是個人化的首頁，當它是網上版的 Google Desktop <http://desktop.google.com/> 就是了。
